DESCRIPTION:Course Highlights\nThe Crested Butte Ultra is a showcase of the extraordinary terrain surrounding one of Colorado’s most beloved mountain towns. Three distances — 35K\, 55K\, and 50 Mile — traverse the Gunnison National Forest on lollipop-loop courses that combine wide-open mountain meadows blanketed with wildflowers at lower elevations\, heart-pumping climbs to dramatic mountain ridgelines\, and single-track trails through aspen groves that glow gold in late September. The course elevation ranges from approximately 7\,500 to 12\,500 feet across the 50-mile distance\, with the shorter races covering the most scenic lower sections. \nRace Details\nThe 2026 race takes place Saturday\, September 26. The 50 Miler starts at 6:00 AM\, the 55K at 7:00 AM\, and the 35K at 8:00 AM. Time cutoffs are 15 hours (50 mile) and 12 hours (55K). The 50-mile course features 8\,300 feet of elevation gain across 6 aid stations. The 55K covers 4\,567 feet of gain.
