Course Highlights

The race course features a scenic loop through Seward Park, primarily following a flat, paved path along the shores of Lake Washington. Runners begin with a “warm-up” hill that leads into the interior of the park, providing an opportunity to frolic through the forest and enjoy the vibrant Pacific Northwest fall foliage. The 5K distance completes one loop of the park, while the 9K “Double Shot” consists of two loops. The route offers beautiful views of the water and the surrounding autumn colors, making for a dreamy seasonal run. [Orca Running](https://www.orcarunning.com/pumpkin-spice-run/)

What Makes It Special

The Pumpkin Spice Run is designed for those who love everything about the fall season, offering a gourmet latte and a festive pumpkin-shaped medal to all finishers. A unique “spice” option allows participants to pick a pumpkin from the Orca Pumpkin Patch and carry it during their run. The 2026 event also introduces a larger pumpkin festival featuring games, face painting, and family-friendly activities. Additionally, the race is a cupless event, emphasizing Orca Running’s commitment to reducing waste and environmental sustainability. [Orca Running](https://www.orcarunning.com/pumpkin-spice-run/)

Race Weekend Tips

Packet pickup is typically held at Road Runner Sports in Seattle’s Green Lake neighborhood (7020 Woodlawn Ave NE) in the days leading up to the event. Parking is available in the Seward Park Upper Loop and along nearby streets, but since spots are limited to about 200, carpooling is highly recommended. Participants should arrive early to account for a short walk to the start line on the south side of the park. As this is a cupless race, runners are encouraged to bring their own hydration vessel, such as a handheld bottle or hydration pack. [Orca Running](https://www.orcarunning.com/pumpkin-spice-run/)
