The Kaiser Permanente Seafair Torchlight Run is a vibrant evening 5K that kicks off the festivities of the Seafair Torchlight Parade on the Seattle Waterfront.
Course Highlights
The course is set against the stunning backdrop of the revitalized Seattle Waterfront, featuring a route that highlights the city’s newest public spaces. Runners will experience a flat and fast path with beautiful, unobstructed views of Elliott Bay and the Seattle skyline. The race starts and finishes at Pier 62, providing a central hub for the evening’s activities and an ideal viewing point for spectators.
What Makes It Special
This race is unique for its integration with the Alaska Airlines Seafair Torchlight Parade, one of Seattle’s oldest and most beloved summer traditions. Participants often dress in neon, fluorescent, and glow-in-the-dark accessories to “Light Up the Night” as they run. The atmosphere is electric, filled with live entertainment, music, and thousands of spectators lining the route in anticipation of the parade.

Race Weekend Tips
Early packet pickup is highly recommended and is available at the Brooks Trailhead Flagship Store the day before the event. On race day, parking is best found on the city side east of Western Avenue to avoid the heavy traffic and closures along the waterfront. Participants should arrive early to enjoy the pre-race atmosphere and stay late to secure a spot for the Torchlight Parade, which begins shortly after the run at 7:30 PM.
